Whether you use an original or a compatible Brother BROTHER TN325K, TN325M, TN325C, TN325Y cartridge, the message "REPLACE TONER" will eventually appear on your screen. This message is displayed when the printer decides that your cartridge is empty. Did you know that your cartridge is not actually EMPTY ?? It still contains toner.
When the printer reported Toner low/replace toner cartridge - we were able to simply reset the cartridge and continue printing until the print quality became unacceptable
We advise that you should ignore this warning message and continue printing until your cartridge is actually empty of toner. To ignore the "REPLACE TONER" warning message, you should follow the reset procedure below. The exact reset procedure varies depending on your printer model.
- Toner low message – Ignore message & continue printing.
- Replace toner cartridge – Now you are ready to reset the cartridge and continue to print
BROTHER HL-4140CN, HL-4150CDN, HL-4570CDW, HL-4170CDWT
Open the printer front cover. The message "cover open" is displayed.
Press the "CANCEL" and "SECURE" keys at the same time until the toner menu appears.
Using the + or - keys, navigate through to the choice of colour toners and select the colour you need to reset.
(STD = std capacity, HC = High capacity, S.HC = Extra high capacity)
Press ok to select the toner and use the + or - keys to reset the cartridge.
When correct "accepted" message will appear after each reset.
When finished, exit the menu and close the front cover.
The printer will go through a reset cycle and you will be able to resume printing.
BROTHER DCP-9055CDN
Open the printer front cover. The message "cover open" is displayed.
Press "DELETE". The toner reset menu appears on the screen.
Use the arrows to select the toner to be reset
Once the toner is selected, press OK. You have two choices: 1. Reset or 2. Nothing.
Use the arrows to select option 1 reset and press OK. The message "Accepted" appears on the screen.
Close the front cover of the printer.
After a few seconds, you will be able to resume printing.
BROTHER MFC-9460CDN, MFC-9465CDN, MFC-9970CDW
Turn off the printer.
Open the front cover and turn on the printer. The message "cover open" is displayed. (If the message does not appear, turn off the printer, take out the drum unit and turn it on again still with the cover open)
Press the "1" key on the control panel. The cartridge maintenance menu appears.
Select the different cartridges that you want to set to 0.
Black corresponds to the letter K, cyan to C, magenta to M and yellow to Y
Reset the selected cartridge and exit the menu.
Close the printer cover.
The printer will now performs a reset which takes approximately 2 minutes and you will then be able to print again!
BROTHER DCP-9270CDN
Turn off the printer.
Open the front cover and turn on the printer. The message "cover open" is displayed. (If the message does not appear, turn off the printer, take out the drum unit and turn it on again with the cover open)
