The Epson photoconductor (Imaging Drum) part number S051104 is rated for 42,000 pages in black and 10,500 pages when printing in colour. There is a radio frequency chip on the C13S051104, S051104 which is shut down by the printer when the photoconductor reaches its rated page yield. If the print quality is still acceptable you can reset the Photoconductor by replacing the old chip with our reset chip and emptying the waste toner section
The video below shows you how to remove and install the Epson Aculaser c1100 CX11 CX21 S051104 Photoconductor Reset Chip.
Waste Toner
The waste toner collects in the waste toner chamber of the photoconductor as you print. The waste section needs to be emptied to continue using the photoconductor otherwise it can overflow and damage the photoconductor. To empty the waste toner chamber remove the 2 screws and the small plastic cover on the side of the photoconductor. Carefully tip the waste toner directly into a bin bag (in a suitable area i.e. your garage). Then replace the cover and screws.
