INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESETTING KONICA MINOLTA IMAGING UNIT (DRUM)

There is a page counting chip on the drum unit. When the drum gets to a certain number of prints the printer shuts down the chip. The printer counts four passes or four pages for each colour print. If your drum was working correctly prior to the "Image drum light" appearing, you can replace the chip on your drum unit and continue printing
The chip is hidden behind the grey plastic end cap. To replace the chip you need to remove this part.
- Remove the 3 screws from the grey plastic end cover
- The chip is located on the inside of the grey end cap
- It is held in place on 2 plastic prongs
- Notice the position of the chip as we need to replace the new chip in the same postion
- Gently remove the chip off its holder
- Install the replacement chip so the contacts are in the same location as the original chip was
- Replace the plastic end cap
- Replace the screws.
